• Puerto Vallarta- Puerto Vallarta is located at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountains and provides visitors with a variety of things to do. The city has a long shoreline on the Pacific that is perfect for those who love to soak under the sun. The weather is fantastic in the winter with warm temperatures and sunny skies. It’s also a popular destination for those looking to swim with dolphins.
• Tulum- If you are into beautiful sites and places that haven’t yet been touched by modernization then Tulum may be your top choice. The town is located close to a series of Mayan ruins that have been well preserved since the 15th century. As Tulum is located on the Caribbean Sea it also a fantastic beach destination, although as a smaller town it does not have quite as many entertainment options as some of the other traditional resort cities. Still, if you are interested in combining a historical adventure with a relaxing beach vacation Tulum is definitely worth seeing.
• Cancun- Cancun is the number one tourist destination in Mexico, and with good reason. Located on the Eastern shoreline, not far from Tulum, Cancun offers fantastic beaches and a good weather, even in winter. In fact, tourism here is at its peak from Christmas through February when half of the world is covered in snow. One popular activity in this city is diving as the Mesoamerican Reef (the world’s second largest barrier reef) can be found here. Also, consider visiting Gorilax Jungle Park, an outdoor adventureland located just outside the city in Puerto Morelos.
• Cabo San Lucas- If you are a beach bum by day who loves to party by night then Cabo San Lucas may be the perfect destination for you. Located on the Pacific coast of the country, Cabo is known for its scuba diving, surfing, and a rock formation called ‘El Arco’ which is perfect for watching sea lions. Cabo is convenient for travelers who live in California and the Western US.
