Getting into shape is no easy task. There’s no denying that it takes hard work, though many people will rationalize their laziness with a few excuses: “Its too expensive” or “I don’t have the time”. There are, however, some good solutions for getting back in shape cheaply, including starting a walking program or finding some used dumbbells for sale.
A walking program costs you almost nothing. All you need to do is get outside and start walking around your neighborhood once every day. If you think you might have trouble sticking to a walking routine consider bringing along your iPod and rewarding yourself by adding new music on a regular basis. You could also consider walking with a friend who lives nearby. If this is not an option you could walk with a dog instead. There are plenty of dogs waiting to be adopted at your local humane society if you don’t currently have a dog.
Another option is to pick up some used gym equipment. All you really need are a few dumbbells and maybe a bench. From there you can work almost your entire body by utilizing a variety of dumbbell and body weight exercises. One way to help minimize your cost is to only buy one dumbbell of each size. While it will limit the number of exercises you can do it can be much cheaper to find one dumbbell for sale rather than getting two of the same weight.
Once you have your walking program and a few free weights you can begin your journey towards healthier lifestyle. Make sure you consult with your doctor before you begin anything too strenuous, as you could worsen an injury you weren’t even aware you had. After you have been going at it for a few months consider adding some difficulty to your routine by running, or increasing the weight of your dumbells.
